TYFA CERTIFICATION

TYFA certifies football players each season to ensure they are of the proper age to be participating in TYFA and that they are assigned to participate in the proper age bracket. Players in the wrong age bracket are a major concern. Not only is it cheating if a player is illegally playing out of their age bracket, but it is a safety concern as well.

TYFA certifies cheerleaders and dancers each season to ensure they are of the proper age to be participating in TYFA and that they are assigned to participate in the proper competition squads for the TYFA State Cheer Competition.  Cheerleaders and dancers  participating illegally is not as much of a safety issue as it is cheating.

TYFA certifies volunteers each season to validate they are of the right age to hold different positions of responsibility and to complete background checks.

TYFA uses a Web App which is an online, browser-based database system, developed to improve the certification process. The Web App was developed in-house with the help of 3rd party web developers and has been in place since the fall season of 2013. This Web App continues to evolve and progress as we use it each season. The use of this system eliminates the need for 99% of all paper documents.  All athlete registration forms and volunteer applications are completed online and the athlete and volunteer contracts are digitally signed.

Athletes and volunteers who are not properly certified by TYFA are considered ILLEGAL, and if found on the field, sideline or cheer area, the person and their organization will be charged with a Level III violation per occurrence,  possibly incurring fines, suspensions, game forfeits and membership suspension or removal.
